Density. One small piece within the vast urban landscape of the city; included in this project, within the reformulation of the Milanese periphery. The Reggio Verde, as such is designated, however, it is the project that ties down numerous operations of this magnitude in which we would be able to designate the new green corridor of the city.
The intention is to provide the dense nucleus of the city, with new interconnected green spaces that surround the metropolis of Expo 2015.
This multifunctional building, belongs to a series of projects encompassed in the same urbanistic reclassification operation of some of the old, desolate properties only a few kilometers from the center of the city. A new neighborhood of growth and development, actually situated on the city periphery, but with an urban quality within a short time. A new economic motor, that will foster new places for the socio-economic growth of Milan. Considering that each day more so, the city becomes more hermetic in it’s densification, adapting new approaches to sustainable growth filtering from the center, that place the annexing populations in relation with the center of the Capital.
The project establishes bases. The “solar”, the parcel, the place, are anonymous, non-identifiable and with the need to be recognized. Resulting in a typical process of periferal growth, of territorial consumption.
The new urban project of Lorenteggio, includes in one of it’s phases, the project which keeps us occupied. A new private, residential area with equipped with ground floor commercial use towards the exterior.
It is a strange project. A complex design of 15.000 square meters of construction, based on loft tipology, of tall empty spaces, which may be customized/custom built to meet each invidividual tenants needs/desires. The density of the program and the proximity to the buildings, makes for the rethinking of issues regarding privacy and filters on the facade in order to conserve the much appreciated solitude.
